I'm not the reader type. I occasionally, maybe twice or three times a year, pick up a book that isn't personal or career development. And when I do, I usually get bored easily. This book was riveting. A decently easy read, since it was technically written as young adult, but the plot line was fantastic, and the author's way with words allowed even my limited imagination to soar. My son, 10, practically tackled me for it when I was done and read it in a day.

I saw the movie and wanted to read the book as the movie intrigued me. Enjoyed reading the thoughts of Katniss as she goes into the Hunger Games and without her realizing, rises above the games and ends up playing the games in her own terms. Interesting concept of making the female dominant and the male more subservient. Good read and I'm looking forward to the next book.
