This was a good series. Not my favorite though. I'm not really sure why though. It just seemed to lack something for me. I read it fast and enjoyed well enough I guess. I don't know what was wrong with it and I can't quite put my finger on it. Overall, I would recommend teens reading this. I enjoy reading YA fiction but this one just didn't quite do it for me.

This was one of my favorite series as a teenager. I'm so glad they published these again so a new generation can fall in love with these books. This series is the type of story you can lose yourself in. By the end you will be madly in love with the "villian" Julian. Sit back down Edward Cullen, Julian was here first and he's the reigning king. I highly recommend these!

I read this book about 10 years ago and I loved it. I passed it along to several of my friends who all also enjoy it. The feel of it is similar to the premise of the movie 'The Labryinth' just not cutesy goblins, and a lot more twists and turns. A Fantastic read, and the best of smith's work in my opinion.
