I loved this book! I don't get as much time as I'd like to read....but I finished this one in 2 days! I couldn't put it down....The tension was almost unbearable, because my eyes couldn't move across the words fast enough....I had to know what was going to happen next! This is a must read for ANYONE who enjoys a fast paced, detective thriller, that begs for more...which by the way, look for the sequel in 2008, 'In The Name of The Father'

Homicide detective Tori Hunter was used to doing things her way. But even after having six different partners in seven years, Tori isn't prepared when she's forced to team up with the hot-tempered Samantha Kennedy.

Samantha, on the other hand, is trying to juggle a new job, a demanding boyfriend, and now finds herself with an even greater challengeâbeing partnered with the most difficult detective in the entire squad.

After a brief terrorist scare disrupts their serial killer investigation, the two women find themselves growing closer. Samantha begins to question the relationship with her longtime boyfriend, and Tori, never one to allow anyone to get close, begins to feel her defenses slipping in Sam's presence.

A serial killer and drug deals gone bad; the two detectives struggle with their feelings, trying to maintain their professional relationship while keeping their nearly flammable physical relationship in check.

so ive been looking for some good lesbian reading, and a friend suggested this author.

there are two parts to this story- a murder to be solved, and a blossoming love affiar between a "butch" (why do lesbian authors describe their characters as butch when they are so obviouslt femme???) cop and her new "strsight" partner. (and why is one of the women always stright? so over it!).

the muder part of the story is really interesting and it gets good on a lot of levels. the lesbian parts- wanted to make me hurl. ugh. why cant my people make movies and write books?

i have three more books by the same author on the way- hopefully they get better.
