Deutermann writes a tense, well-plotted story of a retired FBI agent who comes out of retirement, against orders, to search for his missing daughter, thereby exposing political scandal and causing his enemies to send an assassin after him.

This is the first P.T. Deuterman I have read. Of all the FBI, CIA, and ATF type books I have read lately, I think this one was actually more "frightening."

If I don't have nightmares tonight, I'll probably read another.
