  In my mind I was a child caressed;
stroked and adored,
cradled in arms so frequently,
the ground was a stranger to my feet.

I ran free with wild horses
over praries; mane flying in the wind .
I hunted with wolves; accepted member of the pack,
and flew headfirst into clouds with the eagles.

I whispered songs of love and longing
so dramatically & with such perfection,
that my audience was mesmerized...
transported to places only I could take them.

I danced, eyes dark and flashing
in the light of gypsy campfires;
hair black and whipping waist-length
round my body.

I held court in my salon
where all the greats of art and literature
wit and wisdom came to share their genius,
grateful for my opinion.

In my mind...
