Although it wasn't the best Imperial Guard novel, it is still a better read when compared to Steve Lyons other titles. It was a fast paced, in-your-face, no holds bar novel of the grim future of Warhammer 40k. The majority of the characters are strong, making up for the others that are lacking. The story worked itself leads up to a rather lacking ending that leaves the reader wandering what exactly happened. After re-reading it twice, it holds up to the 40k standard. Over all: 8/10.
