For 23 years Mike Douglas had a very successful day-time show..a show I remember watching & enjoying. He was an easy-going, amiable host to legendary celebrities from all fields. His memoir of those 23 years is as easy going and amiable as the man. So, here are tales of celebrities, polticians, sports greats, movie stars and comedians from the backstage view. Sex, drugs, rock 'n roll tales....as told by you grandmother. If you are looking for salacious, it won't be in this book.

My mother enjoyed this book. We would watch the Mike Douglas show together after school. He would have weekly themes such as one co-host for the entire week, having family members on the show, and interesting guests. I remember George Carlin co-hosting and Mike invited George's mother onto the show. Now I know where he got that sense of humor from! You really got to know the guests! And Totie Fields! Who could forget Totie? Lots of pictures. And Rosie O'Donnell claims she modeled her show after Mike and Merv. I'm sorry to say that you, Rosie, were NO Mike Douglas OR Merv Griffin. There is no one who comes close except maybe Craig Ferguson (The Late, Late Show).
