Having been part of a "spiritual cult" for 40 years, reading this book had me in stitches; Lurie tells with great humor and intelligence the self-delusions and fantasies that a deeply believed "faith" and the chaos it can create in a group that must make their own reality adjust to what is "really going on".

One of Alison Lurie's best IMO.
