Interesting family dynamics....shown through the development of the son, Gregory's life living the Hispanic section of California, his struggle though life in Vietnam, through unhappy marriage and disfunctional children. As always, Isabel Allende is the story teller who leads you through the characters adventures, as if you were there! susan

Excellent variation of Allende's regular South American location. Told from a boy's perspective and follows him thru adulthood. Allende's descriptions always leave me wanting to read more - as does this one!

A new look for Allende: She carries us through the childhood of her husband, growing up as a white kid in the magic of an hispanic barrio.

She is a Chilean author, much acclaimed, and this novel is set in the U.S. It is engrossing and rich in character and plot, classic in style, and epic in scope.

The first Allende book that is set in the United States, The Infinite Plan tells the story of Gregory Reeves, from his impoverished childhood to his quest for love and acceptance in later years. A very good read!

Classic Isabel Allende book, rich with fabled descriptions, ghosts, vivid imagery, delusions of grander, family amnesia. It's delicious.

I enjoyed this book very much. People are very complex and the places they were are foreign to me so very fascinating. This is a wonderful novel.
