My PO changed my mailing address yet each time I try to update the town name in setting it reverts back. Any suggestion?

ETA: - Got it to sorta accept name change - spelling incorrect (took out E's). Guess that is OK?

Thank you.

I think this has this is a database issue.  The database PBS uses to verify addresses may not have been updated, so PBS keeps giving you the old one.  My zip code changed a few years ago and I had the hardest time getting web sites to like the new zip code.

I'd try the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page and see if the team can change it manually for you.

My town name changed, the zipcode stayed the same, 4 years ago. I still find companies that cannot access the new town name only the old. The good news is that the post office will accept and deliver the mail to me as long as the Zip is correct.

Something that not everyone may be aware of is that USPS offers address correction services on a commercial basis.  It used to be that if you had a mailing list you could submit it to the PO, pay a fee, and they would check the list for invalid addresses.  Nowadays they've expanded that service tremendously, and I believe it's also now possible to do an instant address verification with USPS as the data is entered into the system.  The only problem with that is that until the original database is updated it will continue to "correct" things that are not really errors.

The town where I live is spelled Fredericksburg, but the PO database has it without the "U" and many sites (PBS included) will "correct" it to the Post Office official spelling.

Give it some time for the databases to update and it should correct itself.
