Holding was a prolific and popular mystery writer in the 40's and 50's. Raymond Chandler admired her work. The Blank Wall was the basis for 2 files - 1949 Reckless Moment and 2001 The Deep End. 2 enjoyable novels; but I especially liked the dayto day details of domestic life during WWII, rationing, shortages, etc.
