Not Mr. Stephenson's best work, obviously. But I work for political consultants and pollsters, and this book hit a little too close to the truth in some spots. A fun read but with few surprises.

I really enjoyed this book. It is of surprising political relevance despite its publication date. Although it certainly has elements of SF, it is a gripping, well-constructed, and readable novel. NS is one of my favorite authors, but in my view he does tend to get bogged down in trying to impress the reader with how smart he is. This earlier and anonymous novel does not suffer from that problem.

Very interesting book with a great concept. Gives you something to think about, which I feel makes a book worthwhile.
