A book I could not put down starting from the first page to the last. And, unlike many books, extremely well written.
Beautiful historical novel that made an impact on me. I think this is one of Isabel Allende's best novels - although the only other book I have read from her was The House Of Spirits.
I was engaged the entire time and it was so difficult to put down the book. This book will stir up a lot of emotions about the subject of slavery, women's rights, and racism. One of the best modern novels I have read so far. A must read!
