Israel was built on dreams and strivings, on humanistic principles and hard labor.....so starts the summary of this book on back cover.
If this book is accurate, it seems it was built by communists, Marxists, and socialists from Russia.

Further, it summarizes: In this dramatic, fair-minded portrait of Israel, Amos Elon places the ongoing conflicts in the Mideast in brilliant historic perspective. The ideals of the founders have floundered in the reality of wars and violence.
