Because this cookbook cited Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant as their inspiration for these recipes, I found (to my surprise) that it is a franchise headquartered in Dallas. I'd never heard of the restaurant, but I don't frequent Italian restaurants much.

On the positive side, each recipe gives prep time, cooking time, and servings. Recipes are separated into sections, such as entrees and desserts. There are no photographs of finished products and no nutritional information.

These directions would be well done if I wanted to imitate a restaurant. However, I was overwhelmed by the three pages of instructions for Mom's Lasagna and Spaghetti & Meatballs. I thought there were many ingredients (not all of whom I could find in my small town) and extensive preparations.

This cookbook is best for someone wanting to create a special dinner for guests. However, it is just my husband and I, and I was looking for different, quick ways to use spaghetti or other pasta. This book is for a different cook than myself.
