This was a startlingly fast read - concise and thorough in describing Kerouac's quirks and inspirations behind his writings. A terrific sampling of photos enhance the stories and people who moved in the writer's circles. All in all, this is a great biographical work without fluff... one reading it may like to have a few of Kerouac's own offerings on hand for reference.
