Liked but didn't love this book. Tim Cahill can really turn a phrase - but it may be that he used too much irony, too many phrases in spots in this adventure book. There were many tales which were funny, many which were touching, but the tone remained pretty much the same. Regardless he has just taken part in some amazing trips and it came through in the book. I particularly liked his stories relating to flight, parachuting and fear of flight. Those used all his amusing bon mots well. All in all, I consider this one of those books which are ideally suited to picking up and browsing a chapter, using it kind of like magazine articles.
