I would not put too much emphasis on this being a Jane Eyre sequel because Jane and Mr. Rochester are very much in the background in this book. Having said that, as a book in the style of Jane Eyre, I think this is a very successful book. I enjoyed the Gothic plot, I thought the characters were developed nicely and it was a quick, interesting, satisfying read.
