FINISHED -

  1. "ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE" (Body Shop Bad Boys #2) by Marie Harte (A++++) Underneath the axle grease and tats he's a gentleman. Foley Sanders figured he'll always be content with a life of cars and casual hookups. Until a run-in with Cyn, a statuesque firecracker with a hate-on for men, leaves him bewitched and intrigued - much to her annoyance. Maybe Cynthia Nichols was a little hard on Foley, that muscular, tattooed, super-hot mechanic next door.
  2. "VIPERS RULE" (Skulls Creek #2) by Stephanie Tyler (A++++) Even though he’s no longer a U.S. soldier, Talon “Tals” Garrity hasn’t lost his desire for living on the edge. As the enforcer for the Vipers Motorcycle Club, the eternal bad boy is always getting into trouble - especially with the ladies, who can’t seem to resist him. But when Maddie Wells returns to Skulls Creek, he’s shocked that she can’t seem to keep her hands off him either. Good thing Tals doesn’t mind playing with fire. Growing up with her family’s prestigious name and money, Maddie could never indulge a bad-boy biker like Tals. Now that she’s back, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him. But if Maddie ends up getting what she wants, they might both be sorry. Because some very dangerous men are hot on her trail - and Tals and his MC will have to put their lives on the line to protect her.
  3. "FEELS LIKE FAMILY" (Sweet Magnolias #3) by Sherryl Woods (unabridged audio CD) (A++++) Helen Decatur spent a lifetime setting goals - getting through college and law school, opening her own practice, becoming financially secure and establishing herself as one of the most highly respected matrimonial attorneys in the state of South Carolina. Achieving those goals was a breeze compared to the one she's faced with now. The most driven - and cynical - of the Sweet Magnolias, Helen is forty-two, single and suddenly ready for the family she's put on the back burner for all these years. Unfortunately, having a child at her age comes with lots of complications, not the least of which is the absence of a serious relationship in her life. But Helen's not the type of woman to wait around for fate to step in. Taking charge of her own destiny puts her at odds with her two best friends, sets sparks flying with a man who doesn't want a family, and leads her straight into the most unexpected complication of all…love.
  4. "FOR THEIR CHILD'S SAKE" "EVERYDAY, AVERAGE JOE" by Suzanne Brockman (A++++) Held Hostage in a foreign embassy until navy SEAL Harlan Jones came to her rescue she had felt a rush of adrenalin, relief and passion. Passion which had consequences, as Harlan saw for himself when he tracked her down months Later, with a very different proposal. "TO A McALLISTER BORN" by Joan Elliott Pickart (A+++++) Jack MacAllister was just passing through when he found himself a little boy's ideal daddy and a single mum's dream husband, but he was a love-'em-and-leave-'em type. Until he discovered that he was in love, with a new baby on the way.
  5. "THEIR SECRET SON" by Judy Duarte (new author for me) (Bay Side Bachelors #2) (A+++++) The secret was out - The towheaded son of stunning socialite Kristin Reynolds had to be his child. Because once upon a time fireman Joe Davenport and Kristin had been lovers, pulled apart by her prestigious family. He hadn't wanted to give her up then and he refused to give up his son now. Of course, this time, he and Kristin are both adults. They could handle the intimacies of parenthood, without wanting more. And though the heat of her gaze, of her touch, was almost more than he could bear, he'd be damned if he'd reignite their old flame - even if Kristin was the one woman who tempted him to want the family and the wife he could never have.
  6. "BEAUTIFUL LAWMAN" (Devil's Rock #4) by Sophie Jordan (A++++) From the wrong side of the tracks and with most of her family in jail or dead, Piper Walsh is used to everyone in town thinking the worst about her. It doesn’t seem to matter that she’s worked hard to build a good life for herself. So she isn’t surprised that when she comes into contact with Sweet Hill’s wildly irresistible, arrogant sheriff, Hale Walters, they’re instant adversaries. Piper has nothing in common with the town golden-boy-turned-lawman and she refuses to be a notch on his bedpost. Despite rumors, Hale avoids fooling around with the women of Sweet Hill, many of whom are hoping to get him to the altar. But staying out of Piper’s path is proving near impossible. The infuriating troublemaker clearly has no respect for his badge. As she continues to push his buttons, it becomes clear to Hale that he must either arrest Piper - or claim her as his own.
  7. "JUSTICE DENIED" (J.P. Beaumont #18) (unabridged audio CD) (A++++) The investigation of LaShawn Tompkins's murder seemed straightforward enough. Upon his release from death row, the ex-drug-dealer returned to his old neighborhood where he was gunned down on his mother's doorstep. Just another case of turf warfare. At least that's what it looks like on the surface to Seattle investigator J. P. Beaumont, who's been handed the assignment under the strictest confidence. But as Beau starts digging, the situation becomes more complicated than he'd thought. It appears that LaShawn really had turned over a new leaf at the King Street Mission and his murder was pre-meditated. Someone had targeted the man for death. Meanwhile, Beau's lover and fellow cop, Mel Soames, is given her own hush-hush investigation. A routine check on registered sex offenders has revealed a disturbing pattern: they're dying off at an alarming rate and not all due to natural causes. Details of the latest death suggest an inside job, but Mel isn't letting this go. Suddenly, Mel's investigation becomes entangled with Beau's, and the two begin to uncover a nightmarish conspiracy that could involve people in high places - including their own top brass.
  8. "BLACK HORSE" by Veronica Blake (new author for me) (A++++) BLACK HORSE - Was there any warrior more handsome, more virile than the powerful young war chief bathing naked in the river? Meadow was certain she'd never forget the sight of his lean hips, his sinewed thighs and bronzed chest. He was all that a Sioux maiden could want in a mate. But though she'd been raised in the village, Meadow was not really one of the People. Her parents had been white and her past would bring unexpected disaster upon her band of Oglala. MEADOW - She was his to love, her flaxen hair shining like gold on the furs as he stroked her sweet body. But when she was ripped from his arms after a single night as his wife, Black Horse swore he would rescue her from the pony soldiers. Even if he lost his own freedom, his life, he would gaze one more time into the beautiful jade green eyes of the woman who possessed his soul.

I am on a memoir kick.
Finished The Prize Winner of Defiant Ohio by Terry Ryan, the daughter of the prize winner, which was wonderful.
Also finished Name All the Animals by Alison Smith, which I struggled through because of its excessive wordiness.  The topics discussed were very heavy and I just wished I liked it more than I did.
Also finished Life Is Just What You Make It by Donny Osmond, which I surprisingly couldn't put down since I was not a fan of his when I was a kid, but I admire him now as an adult.
And just about finished with My Seven Sons, by soap opera star Don Diamont.  I'd never seen him ever, never even heard of him, but his having 7 sons intrigued me, and I am truly shocked that I am enjoying it so much.  He writes so emotionally that it just drew me in.

Not sure what's next for me.....
