Not quite what I thought it would be. It was a good book but at time I was frustrated by it.
A fluffy, chick lit book in the same vein as _Bridget Jones' Diary_ (right down to the last name!) about love, weight and all the rest. All in all, it was fun, but in an odd writing style, switching from first, to second, to third person P.O.V. willy-nilly.
What a fun and uplifting read. Great for the girl who needs a pick me up and a great love story all in one!
Enjoyable chick lit. It was better than Jane Green's Bookends or To Have and To Hold, but not as good as Mr. Maybe.
By the looks of the reviews here, you will either love it or hate it. I am in the Love It catagory. There is just something very personal, charming, and endearing about this book, I could almost read it a second time, which is saying something for me,...it's a rarity I do so. Yes, it is unrealistic to think of someone shrinking as fast as Jemima does with weight loss here..but hey,...it's fiction people. It's entertaining, not as predictable as mentioned or expected, and a very full, funny read.
A very good read. Get inside the mind of a young woman, who is overweight. Feel her pain and anguish and then her determination to overcome. Wonderful insight, great outcome. You will love the journey.
Jemima was a treat. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. My only criticism (and it's a small one) is that the ending felt like it dragged a little and then just stopped suddenly; I probably only feel this way because I REALLY wanted to know what happened at the end, but at the same time I didn't want the story to end because I liked it so much!
This is a fun, relatively quick read.
I love this story it kept me wrapped up. I love the ugly duckling into beauty story. Take the time to read it.
I hava personal rule that if I start reading a book I must finish it...no matter what! Well, good things rules are meant to be broken, because I could absolutely not get into this book. I am a big fan of chick-lit but did not get into this one at all.
