Leo T. reviewed Jewelry with a Hook: Crocheted Fiber Necklaces, Bracelets & More (Lark Jewelry Book) on + 1775 more book reviews
I picked up this copy from the branch library's 'free' book truck after checking it against the PBS wish list. Sadly (for the librarian who cast pearls before swine) it appears to have hardly circulated although it appears to be a most excellent prtactical arts book. Illustrated by adorned models, there are three sections for lobes/lapels, necks, and arm/wrist, followed by a section on 'crochet basics.' Nine designers are sharing their expertise (one paragraph biography on each at the end of the book) and each offering is rated for difficulty. In addition to the instructions, each project lists materials needed, finished measurements, gauge, and stitches used. From the introduction:
"This book is for lovers of fiber, fashionistas, jewelry enthusiasts, and, oh yes, crocheters. Grab a hook and adorn yourselves!"
