I am currently reading The Beatles by Bob Spiz, copyright 2005.  It is a huge book.  Some parts are somewhat slow but others just take your breath away.  John Lennon had a deep sense of being a burden to his mother as a child and a deep sense of loss that he never really recovered when she died suddenly in a horrible accident.  He spilled rage through his consuming drug use.  This book is like looking over John, Ringo, Paul and Georges's shoulder.  I'm halfway through the book.  His marriage to Cynthia in the early 1964 was kept a secret.  Cynthia is hidden and neglected from the public and John is lucky that he hasn't had criminal charges for viciously beating  a musician peer while playing at a nightclub.  John was cruel and drugs are what drove him.  Great book.  Intense!
