England in the early 18th centruy was a bleak place to be, riddled with crime and hopelessness. Enter John Wesley, who would become the founder of the Methodist church, and would ride over a quarter of a million miles on horseback to preach over 40,000 sermons, often to jeering crowds. He taught salvation by grace thru faith. His hope of salvation, and faith in Christ became a light in the darkness and a sprak that would kindle fire in the hearts of millions for generations to come. This is one of the Hero of the Faith series. A wonderful biography. Gives all the facts in an informative and entertaining way. Not heavy and ponderous reading like many biographies. A great biography.
