I Was three days at Algiers before I called either on the British Consul General, Mr. St. John, or Mr. Tulin, the Vice-Consul; but I had scarcely left my name at theconsulate, when the latter brought me a friendly message from Mr. St. John, requesting me to visit him as often as I could at his villa, where he resides in summer, , and in the meantime to use his town-house for my lodgings.
