I began the journey in solitude and quiet
My way was lonely, yet peaceful, with ease
None to rush along or dawdle
Only for me, as I choose

I noticed others bid me come
Heart lept for the fellowship sweet
New souls, wonders, delights
I entered the blessed chaos

Souls meld together, break, reattach
Too tender, too close
I weary from feeling
Give balm for my ache

Fellowship toils with sweat
Many the furrowed brow
Others a lasting scar
Who will continue to walk along?

Days fade into nights and back
Faces change with tidal temperament
Each I find if but only a smile
Part of the journey, though few finish.
