Both "joyfully weird" and emotionally honest, Kodocha is a zany series about zany people. Sana Kurata is a child TV star who tries to fix the problems of the people around her in her crazy, bossy, but good-hearted way. Her biggest problem is her new rival at school, a heartless boy named Akito who methodically makes life hell for his teacher and the female students. Sana, in her refreshingly aggressive way, challenges Akito and reaches out to him when she discovers the unhappy home life that he endures.

A hysterically funny series that also has heart, with unforgettable characters (particularly Sana's mother, who keeps a pet squirrel in her elaborate hats). The main characters seem too young for any real romance, but it seems a likely possibility later on. Fine for anybody over the age of 10.
