Key Lime Pie

  • 7 - graham crackers, ground into crumbs
  • 3/4 cup - almonds, finely ground
  • 1/4 cup - sugar
  • 4 tablespoons - butter, melted
  • 2 cans - sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup - sour cream
  • 3/4 cup - Key Lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon - grated lime zest

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, ground almonds, sugar and butter.  Mix well and press into bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie plate.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.  Cool completely.

In a medium bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime rind.  Mix well and pour into cooled graham cracker crust.

Bake in preheated oven (350 degrees) for 5 to 8 minutes.  Do not brown.  Chill pie thoroughly before serving.  Garnish with lime slices and whipped cream if desired.
