I've never read a book by Mr. Rushdie, but I remember when the fatwa was declared on him after The Satanic Verses was published. I also remember the very serious attempt on his life a few years ago. A very quick read and a very unique one as well. I did have to google the results of the trial and Mr. Rushdie's role in it, so maybe in the future he will add a section to a new release of the book. I found myself yearning to hear his voice as I was reading the news coverage of the trial.
Not sure there will ever be another book like this. A survivor of an assassination attempt who is also an accomplished and gifted author. Definitely worth reading.
