This is an oversized paperback that explains to children how we catch colds and how our bodies fight infection. Lots of bright pictures and and icky boy-stuff, like nose blowing, etc. :)

This is a beautiful gift book. This book was written in consultation with 2 MD's. The illustrations get across the point.The book begins with Sam sneezing. Mom wipes his nose with a tissue. MOm instructs Sam to confine your cold to yourself always sneeze in a tissue. Germs move through the air, other people will breathe them in and get sick. Sam's teacher tells him when you sneeze it can go 10 yards as long as 3 elephants away. Sam learns that he has different types of blood cells and he learns the name of each and their function. Sams sees pictures of bacteria, viruses and other germs that cause illness and how to fight each. This book has wonderful learning pictures of each type of germ and each type of blood cells that fights each type of germ. Sam learns the types of foods to eat which help hom fight off germs, bacteria and viruses.
