I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did.
It's about a 15 year old gymnast at the top of her game and hopefully to the Olympics. An accident (that maybe wasn't), shameless people with blatant secrets, a reprehensible mother and father, I couldn't relate to any of the characters. I was annoyed with myself that I kept reading until the unsatisfying ending.

Least favorite Megan Abbott book. Page turner- just to get to the end. I was less than impressed and found zero thrill or suspense to it.
This is the first book I read by Megan Abbott and I thought it was absolutely horrible! I kept thinking something was about to happen so I kept reading but about halfway through I had to just skim for dialogue until the end. I figured out what happened early on and there was no surprise or twist or anything appealing! The writing was simplistic and the story was boring and uninteresting, and just plain dumb. I'll give this author another try as she has another book that I think sounds good but this one I wouldn't recommend to anyone...
