Sure to be enjoyed by Downton Abbey fans, this tells the actual social history of the family that lives in Highclere (where the show is filmed) from 1923-1945. I think there's enough detail about war to appeal to history buffs and enough scandal (divorce, affairs) for those who prefer stories to dates in their history lesson.

Great look into the real "Downton Abbey". I enjoyed as much as the first book the author wrote. I hope she fills in more pieces with another book about the current Earl's father!
