this book would have been a great read if not for the annoyance of the heroine caroline. she kept going against the hero dominic the entire book and thus making the situation 100 times worst!

The entire premise of the book was forced I think. Innocent girl avoiding having to think about a marriage proposal from her unknown guardian races off to London without money or prospects of employment so she has to sing in a gambling club. A Lord wins the club in a card game and immediately assumes the girl is a whore even though his employees say otherwise. Then loser of the club decides to revenge himself on both for his bad luck at cards. Girl defies her employer's desire to keep her safe from bad man and gets them both into lots of trouble. Don't know how the Lord could fall in love with her.
