The book had the possibility to be great but was only good. The refrain from the hero "She is not what I pictured my wife to be, she is unsuitable, not pretty enough" even though he couldn't keep his hands off of her. It made him seem shallow not a very likeable character. The heroine didn't find her spunk until the end of the book.
