If you are a Christian woman who is looking for validation on your decision to wait on God's timing, you will love this book. Especially as you get into the last third of the book, you'll feel convicted (especially if you are looking up the verses that the authors refer to as you're reading) that your decision to follow His will and not your own and His path, in faith, will bless you.

Wow. After reading many positive reviews here and on Amazon, I was really excited to read this book. What a disappointment.

I'll start with a few good points. As another reviewer notes, these occur well into the book. There is a list of reasons why you may want to get married (example, I want to share my life, joys and struggles, with someone) and a bible verse that shows how God meets that need. There is also an excellent description of characteristics of a man worth waiting for.

Ok, that accounts for four pages.

Overall, though, the book is one of the worst written and worst edited I've read in a long time. There were a huge number of typos -- sorry, but "bridgegroom"?? Every third sentence was phrased as a question, usually a vaguely accusatory one. And most paragraphs included at least one phrase in quotes: the kind of quotes that, if spoken, would require the speaker to wiggle her index and middle fingers in the air.

The absolute worst part was the sketchy doctrine. Here is just one example: "The Lord's fiance must have a clean heart. You must clean up any blot of sin..." This is a review, not a sermon, so just be aware and consider whether that is consistent with the Christ you know, preferably before you decide to order this book.

For what it's worth, The Surrendered Single, while not a bible study, does a MUCH better job with this concept.
