Anyone read this? It's a favorite of mine from when I was a teenager. I borrowed it from the library and never saw another one again. It's a really collection of short horror stories and is definately worth getting if you happen to see it anywhere. This is his one and only book, though he has supossedly been working on a second book entitled The Celebration of Pain that will hopefully come out some day.

Interestingly enough this book features an intro written by Axl Rose and has a story called Without You that was the inspiration for the Guns N Roses videos Don't Cry, November Rain, and Estranged. Del co-wrote some of the songs on the Use Your Illusion albums as well.

Anyway I'd love to get this book again some day, but was curious if I was the only one who has read it.

I've never read it, or him, but I've seen it go for over $100 on ebay due to the connection with GNR.  I think that this was one of the last Dell Abyss titles and there weren't that many of them out there to begin with, and now @15 years later......

There are about 15 of this book on Amazon with the cheapest being about $50. When sellers don't list the GnR connection on ebay listing it goes for about $15-$20 at the very most. They just aren't listed that way that often.

I'm thinking if Axl Rose likes it, I'm pretty sure I won't... Axl strikes me as one of those guys who sees depth where there really isn't any.

I really like Axl Rose despite of all his issues. He has written a lot of excellent songs and has a unique voice (though his voice his far diffirent now than it was back then).  GnR has outlasted and held up better than almost all of the bands from that era and I don't think it just because of popular they were/are. Appetite for Destruction still sells over 2,000 copies a month and it is what about 20 years later? Axl was wearing Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction shirts before those bands broke big so I believe he does have some artistic judgement. I saw Axl the last time his new GnR went out and they killed and the new songs are excellent.

Anyway I don't see him as someone who sees depth where there isn't, I think he has an eye for beautiful oddball stuff that doesn't appeal to a huge audience but really grabs certain people.

If anyone is interested, I got a hold of Del and this book is being re-released and should be available from Amazon any day now and will be in most chains stores in the next month or so.
