This book was very good, lots of detail on the overthrow of the Hawaiian royal family. I was ashamed of America when I read how they did this.

I did however enjoy the love story between Laura and the 2 men in her life---

One thing I didn't appreciate was how the author rushed the very end. Very abrubt...I would've liked more details about certain things.

Overall though a very good book and i'll probably read another Gaellen Quinn novel in the future.

I enjoyed this book. I learned something about the history of Hawaii. Made me extremely disgusted and ashamed of the greedy, corrupt americans who took advantage of the current regime (who welcomed and befriended them) and were responsible for overthrowing the queen.

I really liked this book as well. I agge with the other reviewer that the ending of a bit rushed, just a lot of facts. I found the history of Hawaii at that time fascinating I had never read about it before. Nice blend of historic and fictional characters. I would recommend to anyone who wants to know more about Hawaii
