This novel encompasses severe family dysfunction, addiction and long-buried secrets that eventually emerge. I felt that the end of the book required a suspension of disbelief and concluded too easily given all that had transpired.

I read this in one setting. In the beginning I was having a hard time liking Cat, but as her story unfolded I couldn't help feeling my heart break for her. I can't recall a time where I have hated a mother or father in a novel this much in a long time. As a mother myself, this book just killed me.
