Dorsey Collins, FBI agent and daughter of infamous FBI agent, Matt Raneiri, who solved the crime now coming back into the spotlight. 24 years ago, Matt arrested Eric Beale for the murder of Shannon Randall though no body was ever found. Now the body of Shannon has surfaced, only 8 hours old. Dorsey is tasked with FBI agent Andrew Shields to investigate Shannon's disappearance 24 years ago. Why she disappeared and how? Where she's been? What tragedy caused her to flee her home? And, the big question, how did Eric get railroaded for something he obviously did not do?

Regardless of the subject matter, this is a thrilling book. Well-written, draws you right in with the OMG factor. This book caught my attention from the first chapter and didn't let go until the final page. Totally spellbinding!

WARNING: This book has spoilers from her "Dead" series. If you have any intention of reading that series, don't read this one first!

The first book in a new series by Stewart. She does make some references to a previous series, and if you haven't read that series, you may find it a little annoying (I read some of the books in the Dead series) I found I was asking myself several times, "now what is she talking about???" She makes quite a few references to family members of one of the main characters who were main characters in previous books.
The plot was good, and she had an interesting cast of characters. The story moved along, except for some chapters in the middle where she could have picked up the pace. There were a lot of twists and turns and the ending was quick. She wrapped it up the last few pages. Don't look for a lot of romance. (thank you)

LAST LOOK is a shocking and fasinating novel, I could not put it down and had no idea who had done what until the end. I really enjoyed this book.

Dorsey Collins is an agent with the FBI, following in her father's footsteps. She has been an agent for over eight yrs. Just coming off a bad relationship she is throwing herself into the job.

Andrew Shields is an older agent who has family problems of his own, and now he has a disaster for the FBI on his hands. His boss turns the mess over to him with the provision that Dorsey be allowed access to his notes.

Twenty four yrs ago her father made his name in the agency by leading the prosecution to charge and finally convict the man accused of murdering a fourteen yr old girl named Shannon Randall. Now a body has been found in Ga, it is identified as Shannon Randall. The problem is that she has only been dead for a few hours. The young man accused of her murder was executed by the state for the crime.

The shock waves of horror will destroy her father and Dorsey feels she must find out why this terrible misscarriage of justice happened. Not just for her father but for everyone involved. Suddenly, there are two cases, who killed Shannon now, and why was she believed dead by everyone when she disappeared. The young man was convicted on circumstantial evidence, there was no body.

The story unfolds in the place where it started, Hatton SC, where it seems no one wants to talk or find out what really happened.

This was this first book I have read by this author, and I will definetly be looking for more of them. The story was very well thought out, and characters well rounded. I also wanted to find out about the other relatives of the FBI agent, which means more of their stories. Well worth the credit!!
