"The Last Testament" by Sam Bourne has you completely drawn into the story. You feel as if you are right along side the characters as they are racing through the streets of Jerusalem. Quite a page turner! Could not put it down.
I don't often offer up negative reviews but this book bored me to no end.
The writing in very good and the plot has a lot of potential, but it goes unrealized in this effort. Although a lot of action is not necessarily essential, this book lacked any action... or anything which compelled me to keep reading. I finished simply because I finish what I start.
Perhaps my disinterest is due to the fact that Jewish/Israeli/Palestinian politics are not all that important here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We are more concerned with the burgeoning coyote population.
If you enjoy political intrigue and double crosses offered up in a story of foreign diplomacy, this book is right up your alley. This book is a spy novel without James Bond.
