This is truly one of the most unique experiences I've had. I can't even say it's a "book," as it's a multi-media experience. Esquivel has parts of the novel broken down into "breaks" where you're to listen to music, others where you're to look at certain pictures, and still others where you're to listen to the accompanying music while looking at pictures. Together, they make for a truly wild story and mind-opening experience. The story, itself, is disturbing and uplifting at the same time. If you're ready to give "reading" a new spin, try this one out. I don't think you'll be disappointed. After all, from such a talented writer, what could you possibly lose?

I loved the unique concept of the story--that everyone has a soul mate, but it could take many lifetimes to be ready emotionally to connect with them. The CD and illustrated pages are a unique feature of the book and really added to my enjoyment of it.

VERY different kind of story. A romance with many sci fi and new age type elements, keeps you waiting to see what will happen next.
