Was anyone else disappointed???  No exploding cars, no major sexual tension or very close calls between Stephanie & Ranger.  Only a couple of boring FTAs.   And very few of the really fun quirky characters from past books.  What's happening to this series?  :(

I loved this one!  I thought it was great.  The exploding beavers were hilarious and I loved how everyone had the same thing to say about the cable company.  I did think there could have been more of Morelli in it but there was plenty of Ranger!  Unlike some of the other cozy series I read I think JE is doing pretty good to be on #13.

haven't read it yet but have it lined up! I had to finish plum lovin' first and did that but am putting off reading this til probablly Monday night! (and I"m one of these weirdos who dont' mind knowing how something ends before reading it!) Personally I think she's sorta written herself into a corner because all the readers are divided between Ranger and Morelli and then some that couldn't take the going back and forth! I like Ranger myself but hey, it's fiction!

LOL, I did love the exploding roadkill & the cable company stuff was sooo true.  :)

Maybe a lot of my disappointment had to with the fact that the big mystery revolved around Dickie, a character who we've been conditioned to hate, so I really didn't "care" what happened to him.  I definitely didn't have much sympathy for him.  Also, I didn't think it was really like Morelli to let Stephanie run around hunting for Dickie, knowing that she was putting herself in danger, while Dickie was safe and sound.

I just finished it!  Can't say that I was disappointed, but I do like a little more hanky panky with Stephanie and Ranger.  (Yes, I know I'm bad to encourage it!)  Having said that, I don't want her to choose between Ranger and Morelli.  If she chooses, it will take away most of the fun.  I sort of like the idea of having your pick of two hot guys............  There were several laugh out loud situations for me in this book.  For some reason the cemetary scene had me in tears, I was laughing so much.  I so wish they would do a movie soon.

I finished this last night and when I shut the cover, I was like, "meh?"   There wasn't the spark that the previous books have had in this one.  I dunno - it seemed more serious than fun to me.

I did enjoy the exploding roadkill -- that cracked me up.  And as a Jersey resident (although not in T-Town) I totally related to the cable company lack of service.  Recently I had an appt booked three weeks in advance - so I could get a coveted 5-8 PM slot.  That night at 6 PM they call me to tell me they have to reschedule and no, they can't give me priority even though it's their fault that they overbooked their technicians.  So I had to wait another two weeks for the cable guy to come (again a 5-8 PM slot).

I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, but I'm glad I didn't rush out to buy it and instead waited for my number to come up at the library.  I read it in one night and I'll take it back and make another library patron happy.
