The Learning Tree is a captivating and breathtaking novel that describes the character Newt Winger's transition into adulthood. Newt's character represents perseverance, loyalty, benevolence, struggling with his conscience on deciding to do what is right. He represents the right thing even if there is a consequence that comes along with it. The Learning Tree is a novel that a teenager, young adult or even and adult can relate to. The main thing The Learning Tree can teach all of us is that there is no such thing as a totally good place or person nor a totally bad place or person, it's like a tree; some are good while some are bad. That is how life is: some fruits on the tree are bad while some are good but what you have to do as a human is to apply it to your life experiences.
