Think Sedaris but in a self-reflective I want to have a better life/be a better person kind of way. And with Burt's Bees lip shimmer...

Laugh out loud funny! It wasn't a 'can't put it down' book, but I read it quickly and really enjoyed it.

What a fun book. I laughed for a week just reliving in my mind some of the experiences Mr. Rouse went through trying to adjust to country living. He and his partner were so out of their element and unprepared for moving to their little well selected private wooded area out of reach of a Guchi and Starbuck's. They were looking for a calmer easier life. Little did they know.
This story is far from boring, full of "what the heck could possibly happen next to this poor guy", and just plain laugh out loud funny. I loved it.

My perusal of it revealed only a lot of gay-man-in-the-country stereotypes.

Drivel. Nowhere does it mention that the book is as much about gay life (not that there's anything wrong with that) as it is about what the publisher makes the book out to be. The guy isn't funny. Could have been a halfway decent read if it weren't quite so flamboyant.

Didn't finish, couldn't recommend. Sorry I wasted a credit on it.
