I read the book, which was excellent.  And the previews look really good, I love Will Smith.  But are the infected still going to be vampires?  Also, has anyone seen the old version of it, The Last Man On Earth with Vincent Price? I've ordered it from SaDVD but haven't gotten it yet.

The Last Man on Earth follows the book almost perfectly. It's pretty good, though it's a little stagey as films of that era tend to be.

Supposedly Matheson himself approves of this new version, so we'll see.

I'm looking forward to the new movie, although I'm not expecting it to be very similar to the book.  Before the Mist came out last weekend, I would never have imagined that Hollywood would allow for an unhappy ending, but now, who knows? Maybe...

I am Legend is legendary but I will risk attack and say I think it's overrated.

Omega Man with Charleton Heston was another movie based on I am legend. I rather like Omega Man.

after seeing  something about the movie I know it will not follow too closely to the movie in one aspect- but I won't spoil it and say what it was I read. Maybe its just me , but lately when they make the movie from the book, they seem to change quite a bit of stuff.

I liked Omega Man too.  I thought it was pretty darn scary.

Ya know-I love Will  Smith but I just can't wrap my mind around him as this character.I think Mathew Fox would have been perfect (lol-drool drool).BUT I still can't wait to go see it:)

I love the book, but I don't think the new movie will have vampires.  I don't think the movie will be quite as good as the book, but I still want to see it!
