What would you think about us posting a weekly thread about the books we've read that week? (ex. What are we reading July 22 - July 28)

I am in the midst of Crazy Sweet by Tara Janzen!  I just finished Crazy Kisses last night.  Crazy Sweet - Red Dog and Travis aren't my favorites but I think I'll be entertained by Smith and his Honey!

I'm definitely on a reading kick this summer.  I'm getting up early for work but instead of getting ready, I'm reading! LOL!  I usually have about 3-4 books I'm reading at a time.  I am halfway through a non-romance book, The Amber Spyglass (part of a trilogy).  I need to stay away from all stores because I'm drawn to the book section!

LOL!  Me too!  If I keep myself moving in the morning I can have an extra 15 minutes or so.  Sometimes I get online but lately I've been grabbing a book and reading.

I just finished the Virgin River trilogy by Robyn Carr, loved it! Now I'm trying to get her Grace Valley series, can't wait! I also finished Dancing Shoes and Honky Tonk Blues by Luann McLane. So far, I've only read two of her books, but I really liked them.

Well, I finished 'murder can kill your social life' and it was pretty good. a lot of suspects and she tells the story from the first person. I'd think these were cozies but not sure because of the language..there's the 'g-d' word and 'f' word which hey I'm used to so not offended but some might be who aren't expecting it..mentions sex a lot but doesn't describe anything like a romance would! I'll give the next couple a try and see how they go. maybe Ican catch up on some other stuff since the next stevi mittman book isn't out til feb or next year though i'm reading the free online read as it comes out.

off to bed!

Sounds good.

On the other thread (the huge one) I had complained about a Lisa Kleypas book that I ordered and I waited the 5 days and then it rolled onto someone else. Well, that someone has yet to mark it mailed and she only has until 11pm tonight. I think this book is cursed, lol.

ok, I'm getting confused because this is the most recent thread yet I see the other one popping up! I went through and added reads there that interested to my reminder list so I don't forget them!

just finished reading 'the life of riley' by cara summers this morning before sleeping...it was funny! a light cute harlequin read that was 'adorable' the first story in harlequin duets #56.

ETA; had to post quickly last time so thought I'd come back to the same post! :-) working night shift on overtime then for the next 3 nights...sigh..oh well good internet and reading time!

The Life of Riley is about a woman who has a petsitting service and wants to open a doggy daycare and later vet school. she lives with her younger brother and older uncle, both into 'acting'. she sits for upscale clients and their jewelry is stolen but they dont' suspect her though the police do. they send an injured offduty cop to be her 'hired hand' only she's the only one supposed toknow he's a cop and more jewelry is found in her apt...just funny scenes like these books are famous for. wish I'd bought these as they came out but at the time I only read these books for the sex and that's not the main focus at least in this particular story though it's there....the 2nd story in this book is 'naked in new england' by jacquie d'alessandro but having more trouble getting 'into' this one mainly from being sorta tired I guess though it's still good. liked the first one though!

also have 'tag, you're it' and 'murder can ruin your looks' with me along with a bunch of other choices if I finish this one and don't like the other 2 options!

My book is still sitting there, sadly waiting to be mailed. I can't even cancel it b/c they finally printed the label. However, no mailing in sight, sigh.

Enough about that one, I just finished reading Prince of Dreams by Kleypas. Very different and I'm not really sure I liked it. The whole time travel thing didn't bother me, but him cheating on her did. He wasn't as likeable as some of her other bad boys are.

gosh rebecca! mine's at least in transit!

I ended up reading the 2nd story in the harlequin duets book - almost done and gonna finish before I hit the hay! left a little after 5 since itwas on overtime and we only cover 10 hrs then. oh, the story's 'naked in new england'!  might start another funny short read after this one..these are easy to read and put down and aren't too involved..at least the couple I've read lately.

Well, praise be, it finally got mailed. I think they only had until 3am today to get it done. It was accepted on the 19th and finally mailed today. Of course, this was the second person, I requested it days before. Sigh, at least this doesn't happen that often.

Sherri: I hope yours gets mailed soon.

This is actually the second Kleypas book that this has happened to. Maybe her books are just cursed, lol.

They're probably still trying to read it LOL!

I started the first book in the dead-end job mysteries by Elaine Viets this morning while trying to fall asleep - shop til you drop. So far it's interesting but not sure I like the background...so far I know she was working a $100,000/yr job, came in and found her husband of 17 yrs in liplock, whacked him with something, lawyer taking her money and abandoning her in court, and now she's on the run so the p ast doesn't catch up with her - courts not being able to find her if she works off the books jobs...hmm...

I finished 'shop till you drop' and it was pretty good! Now I'm reading 'Promises to Keep' by Kathryn Shay..a new author for me and not sure how I'm gonna like this one...a secret service agent is undercover in a school as a counselor and his 'nephew' is a student(really another agent) to deal with violence in schools. supposed to have danger and romance. I'll see how it goes..sorta tired now and think this one might be kinda 'deep'....

Okay the problem for me is...sometimes I forget what I've read. It's sad, I know. I'll have to write them down. Another suggestion: Do a Monthly "Latest Reads" thread. "August...Let's Talk About Our Latest Reads"

Gayle, "Diablo" and "The Marshall and the Heiress" were great, weren't they?
