I wanted to like this book, but it just did not work for me. I didn't appreciate the fact that the author constantly inserted herself into the text. This would have been much more compelling if she had simply written about the colorful collection of characters there.

Great book about a community filled with psychics and mediums and tells the story of the town and some of the people behind it. I would definitely love to visit there. Sounds like a great place to visit or live. This is a MUST for the person who loves anything supernatural dealing with psychics & mediums.

I enjoyed this book very much, although I got the feeling the author was trying to create conflict (in her own mind). Ever read a story where the characters seem forced, and they do things that don't make sense? That's the impression I had about the author's experience in Lily Dale.

This book was a disappointment. It rambled on, never really delivering much. That said, it was still an interesting read and I would love to visit there!.

This community is one of few that were left in tact from days gone by. It's very interesting to see the characters, learn the ways and read some of the stories and people who have come and gone in this town. Whether you are a believer or not of ghosts and spirits... it's interesting enough that you will enjoy it!

Its not what I was expecting. There were parts that contradicted itself.

This was a good book. A few years ago I did go to Lily Dale, NY, about 3 hours from where I live. In the book, the author was writing a book and spent some time there. She checked out various aspects from the various mediums, meeting people who had come there to hopefully hear from their loved ones who had crossed over. There were some good stories. The author tried various things while she was there. What I didn't like were the little snippets of stories and I was left hanging on some of them. I also wanted to slap the author silly with her attitude she had when she heard or saw things, a real skeptic. I think she was trying to debunk the place, but after a lot of things she found, she really couldn't. One thing I came away with that mediums are not 100% accurate and people should sort out what they believe from a reading. I had a reading from a medium and it was quite interesting because my father came through.
