Excellent history of the Fabians, by a leading Fabian of her time. The Fabians believe in implementing socialism through government action. They work in the Labor Party and at one time had a huge influence within that party. Most of England's welfare state programs were thought of and implemented by the Fabians by their roles within the Party and within the Government.
