After ten years in prison for shooting - and permanently crippling - a young policeman, Victor Jenner is released to a strange new world and told to begin making a new life for himself.

It's hard to fill the days, but at least there's one blessing - he was never convicted for all of those rapes he committed.

Then he meets - or, actually, tracks down - David and Clare. David is the policeman Victor shot, and Clare - well, she's David's beautiful girlfriend. Who would have thought you could become friends with the very man whose fault it was that you lost ten years of life to a jail cell? Not Victor. But then, life is full of surprises....

About an ex-convict, Victor, who is released from prison after shooting and permanently disabling a young policeman. He only served 10 years for this crime but Victor knows he would have gotten many more years if the authorities knew about all the rapes he committed. Victor tracks down the ex-policeman, David and his girlfriend, Clare. He becomes friends with David but Clare is another story. A well-written psycholgical thriller that gives the reader a startling look inside the criminal mind.
