This book captured my interest right away and held me captive till I finished it. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with a character in the book named Rusty, as I did with his polygamist dad, Golden. Four wives, twenty-eight children, a man named Golden, with a strange but non-Polygamist upbringing, The Principle a very original, bittersweet, and moving story. A must read. I loved it! "A serious contender for Great American Novel status." --Publisher's Weekly. Totally agree!
