I posted a WL book. When that person responded I checked their WL and noticed they had another book I was going to post on WL. (actually I have about 5 books for their WL but I haven't read some yet). I pm'd her and asked if she wanted this other book posted to her WL as well. She said yes. I went to her WL and posted the book. Not from the description page but from her WL page. It went to someone else. I didn't realize this until after I accepted the other request. I added extra weight to the printed postage to cover the 2nd book. Then I decided to double check the 2nd book and noticed it was a dif person and address. I don't understand what happened. I just PM the 1st person to explain. I feel really bad. I might try to post those other books to her WL after I've read them. |

Hmmm ... That's really weird. Could it be that she changed the addy for the second book to have it sent to a friend or family member? |

Every time I've ever used this it has worked fine... |

I had this same issue about 2 weeks ago! I thought it was just a glitch... |

I did it over the weekend and it seemed to work just fine. That's odd. |

I dunno if it would be the same for this one but sometimes when you post to a persons wl the book goes FIFO because that person doesnt have credits. Its not an answer for the OP but it could explain it for the rest of you. |

I posted directly to a buddy's wishlist last night, and it worked fine. However, about 2 weeks ago, when I posted directly to a member's wishlist, there was someone else's name there when I attempted to print the wrapper. I cancelled the transaction, pm'd my Buddy to alert her, and then posted the book directly to her wishlist again. That time, it worked. In this case, it wasn't a lack of credits that caused the book to be offered to the first position in the wishlist line instead of to my buddy. So it had to have been a glitch, I suppose. |

I'm curious. Is it possible to avoid risking such a glitch by simply mailing the person the wish list book and having them transfer a credit to you? I am new to PBS, so i don't really know how things work yet. |

Well I pm'd the original person and she was like "no problem", really nice about the mixup. I'm sending it to the person accepted it for as it's not their fault. |

I have had it work sometimes and not work sometimes. It seems to be a bit glitchy. I just posted two to someone's WL last week and it worked fine. However, a few months ago when I tried to post to a WL it went FIFO. Who knows?

Someone just did it for me, the thing you have to watch is that the ISBN must match, not just the title. If you are WL'ng for a different ISBN then it will not go to you, it will go to someone else. You may need to add their ISBN to your WL for them to give it to you. |

Forgive me if this is a question that everyone already knows the answer to. If you post a book directly to someone's wish list, what happens to people that have been wishing for the same book for a longer time? |
|||
|
|||
The person who has been Wishing longer stays in the same place in line. (Posting to directly someone's Wish List is a nice option to have but it does mean bypassing the whole first in line system.) |

Nikki, you can do it that way. No rules against it. There's also the "mail to a friend" option from your bookshelf, and that will print out a wrapper for you. |

I posted two to someone's WL last night, and both gave me the warning that I was posting to that person's WL.... Well, after the obligatory hour passed, I went to "print" the second label and it had someone else's address. I PM'ed the person the book was intended for and asked if she'd entered an alternate address for it, and she said no... So I guess it just went into FIFO... I had to cancel and have her buddy a credit over for it! VERY annoying! |
